- Ummm... I think there's some confusion here. Are you really on about WB
- prefs, or about MUI? Why would you need to erase "all of sys:prefs"?
- (Note colon, not period). Inside prefs is the Env-Archive directory with
- stuff that's needed for all sorts of software. It's true that when you
- install a new vn of MUI, the existing mui prefs may need to be removed
- from envarc:mui/ but in any case I would always make a backup somewhere
- else of all stuff I deleted - until I know I've done the right thing.
-
- Inside envarc: (or sys:env-archive) is a subdir named sys which holds
- stuff you set up with your WB prefs editors. I suggest you go through each
- of the prefs icons in the Preferences window and set up everything again.
- This should restore the archived prefs.
-
- You say the prefs "don't save" when you reboot. Confusion here also.
- The system prefs are saved when you use the various prefs editors (e.g.
- screen type, overscan, serial, etc etc), and for each one, tell it to
- "save". When you reboot, the Envarc: stuff is copied into ram:env/ for
- speedy access.
